COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to prepare all students engineers on the basics of English grammar that they need to succeed in their studies. They will understand the underpinnings of English language and learn step-by-step the process of English grammar and usage.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Initiate the students to basic aspects of English language as well as appropriation of grammatical aspects to better prepare the next level of English learning during their training as Engineers.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course, the student should be able to:
- Learn the English alphabet and its pronunciation;
- Learn about facts on letters and sounds
- Understand Digraphs and Diphthongs
- Analyse Parts of Speech

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
At the end of this course, students are expected to have fulfill some course requirements:
- They should submit their assignments on time, otherwise they will be penalize for late submission (-5points);
- Any student absent for more than 50% of the course timeframe shall be punished for the same penalty (-5points) since the attendance list is prepare for each course and controlled by the teacher;
- The course is interactive and students are expected to ask questions where necessary and participation is rewarded by a bonus to add to the TPE mark in plus (+).
- Students will have personal work to do at home on a regular basis in order to prepare the Evaluation.
